WHAT TO EXPECT
A SMART Certified Trainer who works with SMART products everyday leads this introductory-level event. By the end of the event, you'll be comfortable using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and Notebook software.

THE AGENDA AND CONTENT

• Getting started: Learn about hardware components, how the SMART Board interactive whiteboard works and the basic principles of touch, write and save.
• Working with Ink Aware applications: Learn to write directly into Microsoft® Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® software, and use these common applications with your SMART product.
• Basic design in Notebook software: Add images and interactivity to lesson activities created in Notebook software 10. Learn how to maneuver through the software using tabs, toolbars and menus, and discover how to create properties, change properties and manipulate objects.
• Instructional design for interactive whiteboards: Learn design techniques for setting up lessons on an interactive whiteboard. Discover the advantages of an interactive whiteboard over traditional and other digital instructional mediums.
• Additional resources: Find out how SMART supports you with a number of resources, including free training materials and an online community.

YOU WILL RECEIVE
You will receive a Notebook software learner workbook that includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The workbook is used during the event and is an excellent future reference.

Unless otherwise indicated, sessions are delivered using Smart Notebook software with the Microsoft Windows operating system.

In this intermediate level session, you will learn how to design lesson activities in Notebook collaborative learning software by adding style and incorporating interactive content at a full-day professional development event. By the end of the event, you’ll be comfortable creating and organizing lessons using the SMART Board and Notebook software. There will be time to ask questions and create interactive lesson activities.

THE AGENDA AND CONTENT

• Intermediate design in Notebook software: Learn how Notebook software can help you to structure lessons more effectively. Use new tools and add rich media content to lesson activities.
• Delivering lessons and leveraging interactive tools: Learn best practices for teaching with an interactive whiteboard. Discover the differences between using Notebook software to create presentations in advance and using the software spontaneously in your classroom.
• Tools for assessing student learning: Review the science of evaluation and assessment, and build assessment activities. Learn how to use Notebook software in your formative and summative evaluations of your students and their work.
• Additional resources: Find out how SMART supports you with a number of resources, including free training materials and an online community.
