Managed TV Distribution Made Easy
|
|
A school district in North Carolina
needed to solve two separate, but
inter-related, problems. It needed
to distribute 20 channels of SD
Cable TV from a central headend out
to 40 classrooms, and it needed to
provide low-cost control of a
projector, as well as the ability to
select sources and change the TV
channel.
Most of the 40 classrooms were not
wired for cable TV, so the customer
had to decide whether to redo a
complete coaxial infrastructure at a
significant initial cost or use the
UTP infrastructure that had recently
been installed for voice and data
connectivity.

Grand-prize Winners at NCTIES
|
|
Congratulations to our grand-prize
winner! Stephani Hartman, with D.F.
Walker Elementary School, won a 77"
SMARTTM
board.
"Instead of standing at the
front of the classroom
'delivering' information, the
SMART board will provide the
opportunity for students to
'discover' concepts. Students
will have more ownership of the
information...by experiencing it
through active manipulation. The
more ownership the students take
of the information, the more
they retain it."
-Stephani Hartman, Dance
Instructor
D.F. Walker Elementary School
Congratulations to Tracy Chapman
with Alexander County Schools, who
won the Senteo Interactive Response
System.
"As a teacher, I will find huge
benefits by getting quick,
real-time responses from
students for speedy assessment."
-Tracy Chapman, Math Instructor
Alexander County Schools
Congratulations to Loretta Moses,
who won a SMART training session
with ClarkPowell's certified SMART
trainer Amy Mills. Loretta invited
several colleagues to join her. 25
new SMART Board users from the
district will attend the training.
