Yes! Open storage technology offers new levels of workflow flexibility

In today’s film and video workflows, editors, producers, directors, graphic artists, animators, and others need real-time access to media created using a mix of Avid and non-Avid tools. The Avid Open Storage Initiative makes it possible to run practically any third-party Mac OS X or Windows XP content creation tool on Avid Unity media networks, Avid VideoRAID disk arrays, and Medéa RTR320/FCR2 storage systems.

Media professionals can now use whichever tools they prefer and still take advantage of the speed, capacity, and reliability of Avid Unity media networks and Avid local storage products. See the latest test results:

OSI and Avid Interplay
The Open Storage Initiative lets customers take full advantage of a facility-wide Avid Interplay nonlinear workflow. Interplay brings open asset management, workflow automation, and security control to a wider range of users who store and share their work on an Avid Unity media network. Interplay supports Avid and non-Avid assets and can recognize any file format—and users can add more file formats as needed.
