No longer the purview of the Broadcast industry, the cost point for professional broadcast equipment has lowered to a point that it is no longer a barrier to entry. Many sports teams, churches and schools are building broadcast facilities because they have come to realize that they can commoditize their content and have another revenue stream for their organization. In addition, many corporate organizations have realized the cost savings of producing their own web based content, rather than engaging outside production agencies.
