Huddle Space at Clemson University

Huddle Spaces

As more and more office spaces continue to shift toward flexible, open (cubicle based) designs, impromptu meetings or collaboration sessions are increasingly common. Huddle spaces are the perfect solution for these ad hoc meetings. The ability to quickly and easily share ideas is the key to well-designed huddle spaces. Sharing and editing of content, no matter what type of device your users bring to the table, is important to driving successful meetings. ClarkPowell recommends wireless collaboration tools because they allow virtually unlimited numbers of simultaneous connections and there is no jumble of wires to get in the way. However, wired and hybrid options are also available and ClarkPowell’s experienced sales and design team will guide you through the process of selecting which option is best for your situation.

Conference Rooms

Well equipped, easy to use and comfortable conference rooms are crucial to the productivity of your teams. Control systems must be designed for intuitive use. Depending on the room size, images will be presented on displays, projection systems or both. Video conferencing is frequently an important feature and  simpler services such as Skype for Business© will not deliver the user experience that is expected in this setting. ClarkPowell typically uses Polycom or Cisco systems that allow for multi-office or multi-national meetings. Crisp, clear sound is also a critical factor therefore good quality microphones, speakers and audio processing is required. High quality sound and vision, with ease of use are the cornerstones of a well-designed conference room AV system.

Video Conference Rooms

Video conference rooms are very special spaces with a singular purpose; to bring people together from two or more remote locations in the most engaging way possible.  The user experience should feel as though everyone is in the same room.  This requires very specific designs including multiple cameras and displays with very precise viewing angles.  Sound that is crystal clear.  Furniture placement and lighting are critical aspects that must be incorporated into the design.

Full-feature boardroom with video conferencing, presentation systems and control systems.

Boardrooms

The boardroom is not only the statement room for your company, but it should also be a secure, efficient, comfortable and easy to use meeting space for your executives. All of the technology present in conference rooms must be here too; video conferencing, presentation capabilities, as well as excellent sound reinforcement. In addition to these technologies, sound masking is an important feature to ensure what is said in the room stays in the room.  ClarkPowell’s sales and design teams will work with you to create a solution unique to your needs.

Large meeting spaces such as this auditorium use projection systems instead of a seried of display panels.

Large event spaces such as auditoriums require high-end professional sound and video distribution.  Of course, a complete assessment of the native acoustic characteristics of the space are critical to properly designing a system that will enhance performance and audience enjoyment.  Many times, production video and streaming video are also key components.  Ease of control and supporting digital signage to promote current and future events are also important elements of a properly designed auditorium experience.

Divisible rooms present challenges because they need to be able to present content independently and when combined.  A powerful yet easy to use control system is employed to make this happen.

Meeting spaces that can be combined or divided provide a great deal of flexibility but this feature also has its challenges when it comes to distributing audio and visual content among the spaces.  To be truly useful the method of distributing content must be flexible enough to accommodate any combination of the meeting spaces.  Efficiently controlling the distribution is also very important.  Due to the typical size of these spaces an integrated sound system (microphone, amplifier and speakers) will most likely be required.  Again, due to the size, projection systems are more typical than displays.  Video conferencing is not typically required for these spaces but, of course, can be added if desired.

Video Walls

This video wall is in the lobby of the Watt Family Innovation Center and displays campus information at Clemson University.

Video walls capture interest with a “wow” factor that only high-end corporations could traditionally afford, but this is no longer true.  They certainly make a statement whether they are located in the lobby providing promotional messages or in larger meeting spaces.  Video walls are made by joining displays showing a single image across all displays or individual images per display or any combination in between.  Their size can range from a simple 2x2 (two displays high and two displays wide) to virtually unlimited size.  The content that is displayed is critical to achieving maximum “wow” and ClarkPowell can help you tailor your message to it's greatest effectiveness.

Digital Signage

Digital signage display like this display timely information that is easily updated from a central location.

Digital signage is becoming more and more popular because its dynamic attention-grabbing content communicates your message while engaging your audience and in a way that simply isn’t possible through traditional printed materials. You can update content anytime you wish, including streaming real-time video, allowing you to tailor or message to meet the needs of any situation. ClarkPowell can tailor a solution for you that can be as simple as a single screen in a reception area, through to many thousands of screens across a world-wide campus or sporting venue.

Wayfinding is a type of digital signal signage that directs visitor to locations within the business complex.

Large organizations such as hospitals, universities and shopping centers are difficult to navigate but digital wayfinding solutions provide the answer to getting visitors where they need to go quickly and efficiently. ClarkPowell can provide “dynamic” solutions that allow visitors to request a location or specific event. This means scheduled events with designated locations need to be automatically updated if plans or locations change.  This is not a simple process when you consider multiple wayfinding stations are deployed in different locations throughout the organization.  Automating the process is the key and ClarkPowell can provide the solution.

Interactive Classrooms / Training Rooms

In this digital classroom every student can share and present content from his/her seat.

Interactive classrooms leverage today’s technology to engage and motivate students for improved learning.  Designing effective room solutions requires an in-depth analysis of your unique situation and educational goals.  ClarkPowell certainly understands this and would never take a “one-size-fits-all” approach.  The package of recommended technologies can include content sharing through display and / or projection systems, document cameras, wireless collaboration, lecture capture capabilities and video streaming.  Of course, easy to operate and consistently designed control systems are also essential - every instructor must be able to easily access the room’s full capabilities no matter which classroom they are using.

Broadcast

ClarkPowell was founded on the Broadcast industry and continues to support many clients that have been with us from the start. Initially, broadcast was a niche area with very high-value equipment and a handful of television broadcast companies as clients. Now however, more and more organizations are realizing the value of their digital assets and using them to generate revenue or support. Uses include corporate training support, houses of worship who broadcast their sermons to people unable to attend in person and sports teams for coaching sessions, in-stadium replay and feeds to provide feeds to area broadcasters.

Managing the Audio Visual portion of the worship service at this church require a sophisticated sound system.

Streaming video allows you to share your video and audio messages via the internet.  Government agencies, schools and houses of worship are relying on streaming video as a very cost effective method to expand their audience.  Streaming video is usually sent from prerecorded video files, but can be distributed as part of a live broadcast "feed". When streaming live broadcasts, the video signal is converted into a compressed digital signal and is broadcast out to multiple users using a special web server.  ClarkPowell can provide cost-effective solutions to help you maximize the reach of your message.
