CASE STUDY
Raleigh Chinese Christian Church, Cary, North Carolina
The Raleigh Chinese Christian Church, located at 520 Allen Lewis Drive, Cary, NC, is a beautiful new facility with a large sanctuary and chapel. From this location, the church livestreams services in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. The church also holds hybrid adult Sunday school classes as well as small group meetings, fellowship gatherings and youth and children’s programs. There are two interpretation rooms adjacent to the sanctuary enabling the church to offer translation services from the language of the service into the other two languages of the members.
ClarkPowell was chosen after an in-depth needs analysis to design and build the project, working closely with the architect and general contractor to ensure that the AV plan worked well with the architectural plan. The church needed a highly functional system that is easy to use to communicate their message.
The Church was seeking a way to capture and livestream their praise and worship services with a choir and band. A solution was needed for multiple broadcast quality pan tilt cameras, digital audio, lighting, and a production system for global live broadcast and to overflow spaces in the facility.
A digital stage box and Midas board were utilized for the new sanctuary audio system as it needed to be compatible with the existing Berenger board in the chapel. The two audio mixers feed each other through the Dante protocol and can be used as an easy way to manage audio overflow to other spaces. It all connects to the stage box that feeds to the Midas mixer with Cat-5 connection cables that ensure the ability to move to 4K capability in the future. Recording the services has opened the possibility of expanding the number of services by replaying the message during the new service later in the day. They also wanted a system that would be familiar and easy for congregational volunteers to use without too much training.

"ClarkPowell is an absolute pleasure to work with from initial design to completion of our 2 AV systems (main sanctuary and small chapel room). We gave them our requirements for our new Church building and many of the requirements were forward looking, including live streaming. It was fortunate because when the COVID hit, we were prepared to do live streaming even though we didn't plan on using until much later. The AV and live streaming has gone smoothly since installation. The few hiccups we had were immediately addressed by ClarkPowell and their awesome support team. We have AV volunteers across 3 language congregations and many of them don't know the technical details but are able to use the system. The components chosen by ClarkPowell has met our Church's needs well and we are overjoyed with our decision to go with them!"
